Meet the team

Hi, I’m Ashley Specter, M.A., CCC-SLP

At Little Talkers Speech Therapy, we’re passionate about helping children find their voices and supporting families every step of the way. We believe therapy should be playful, connection-driven, in the child’s natural environment, and deeply individualized.

I’m Ashley Specter, M.A., CCC-SLP and I’m the owner and the lead Speech Language Pathologist at Little Talkers Speech Therapy, LLC.

I’m passionate about helping little ones find their voices and supporting families through the early years of communication development. With a special focus on late talkers, early intervention, and phonological processing, my approach is play-based, family-centered, and rooted in connection. I also have extensive experience working with autistic children and take pride in providing neurodiversity-affirming therapy that honors each child’s unique way of communicating, thinking, and experiencing the world. I believe that every child’s voice matters, and that therapy should celebrate their strengths while supporting areas of growth in a respectful, joyful way. As a mom myself, I understand how deeply parents care about their child’s progress, and I value collaboration, empathy, and education as key parts of the therapy process. At Little Talkers, we celebrate every milestone—big and small—as we help children build confidence in their voices and in themselves.

I earned my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from St. Louis University right here in St. Louis and my Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Bradley University in Peoria, IL. I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Missouri and hold my Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).  I have specialized training in supporting children with expressive and receptive language delays, phonological disorders, and autism spectrum differences using neurodiversity-affirming, play-based, and evidence-informed approaches.

When I am not working with my amazing clients and families, you can find me spending time with my 3 children (all girls!) and husband, finding and cooking easy and delicious meals for my family, and watching true crime or reality tv.

I’M A SPEECH THERAPIST AND A MOM WHO CARES AND IS HERE TO HELP.
